The expeditionary team will travel from the source of the Gambia River located on the Fouta Djallon Plateau of the West African country of Guinea across Senegal and The Gambia to the Atlantic Ocean. ‘Across The Gambia - The Gambia River Expedition’ will be the first expedition to travel from the source to the Atlantic Ocean.

The objectives of ‘Across The Gambia - The Gambia River Expedition’ are:

To study the impact of climate change/global warming on the Gambia River, the rivers ecosystem and the wildlife and indigenous cultures that coexist along the river;
To document all encounters with wildlife and indigenous cultures along the Gambia River;
To document the flora and fauna along the Gambia River;
To have an expeditionary team travel the entire length of the Gambia River from it’s source in Guinea to the Atlantic Ocean;
To explore and to adventure as an expeditionary team.
